Did you know that men have feelings, too?
While suicide rates in working-aged men have been on the rise, with men being 4x more likely than women to die from suicide, men are also the least likely to seek or receive any kind of support.
Ten years ago, this week, our team set out to address this problem through the launch of Man Therapy – a groundbreaking campaign designed to show men that talking about their problems is masculine, like bull riding or changing the oil on a ‘79 Ford. On the site, men access Dr. Rich Mahogany’s virtual office, which uses humor to disarm and shrink stigma, making mental health approachable for even the hardest to reach men. It’s like a physical for your feelings, but you get to keep your pants on.
As we look back at all we’ve accomplished in 10 years of Man Therapy – over 1.4 million users, 400,000 completed head inspections, and 40,000 men connected directly to a crisis resource – we wanted to take this opportunity to highlight some of our favorite mental health tips from Dr. Rich himself.
